Are there any benefits to taking part in the study?
You have the opportunity to enter an optional £50 prize draw by entering your email at the end of the online survey. In addition to this, the data you give could provide valuable information to help researchers and clinicians work better with families. To maintain anonymity and confidentiality it is not possible to contact you with the results of the study. However, you can follow the research progress on this website.
Are there any disadvantages to taking part in the study?
There are unlikely to be any disadvantages to taking part in this study. If in answering the questionnaires you become concerned about your child’s behaviour you can contact the research team using the contact page or alternatively, arrange an appointment with your local GP or health visitor.
What happens to the information that I provide?
All of the information you provide is anonymous and will be kept securely and under the strictest confidence. The information parents provide will only be accessed by members of the research team. The findings of the study will be produced in reports and academic publications but never in a way that could identify any of the families who take part.
Who has reviewed this study?
The Imperial College Research Ethics Committee have reviewed and approved this study to protect participant well-being, rights and dignity. Ethics (ICREC) reference: 15IC2589.
If I have a problem, what can I do?
It is very unlikely that anything will go wrong, but any complaints or concerns should be immediately sent to the Principle Investigator. You may also contact the Imperial Joint Research Compliance Office.
